Borrowing from Glennon Doyle Melton’s inspiring concept – this phrase came to mind today as I hit send on my queries for my middle grade novel.
Here’s a snippet of the inner monologue that happens after you press the send button:
“Yes, this feels so good! Oooh, I can’t wait to see if anyone responds right away.”
“Ack! What have I done?!? Is it ready? It’s not good enough. Take it back!”
“Maybe I’ll get like five requests for the full manuscript, and they’ll be fighting over me!”
“I’m completely delusional. I don’t know what I’m doing.”
“I’ve worked so hard, I can’t wait for an agent to tell me what they think.”
“Oh man, what if they really do tell me what they think…”
